Is it enough to just have a photo of you and your groom standing at the altar? Or would you also like to hear the vows you said to each other and share that with your future children and grandchildren? Is it enough to have a photo of your first dance as a married couple - or would you like to hear the song you danced to and see the results of your ballroom dance lessons?

Why Choose Video?

Bride Dancing

Professional videography captures life's most precious and beautiful moments--as they actually happened. And what is more important to hold onto the sights and sounds from the most important day of your life--your wedding day! Every bride will agree that the day goes by so quickly and becomes quite a blur when looking back on it.

Only video gives you the chance to preserve the complete story of your wedding day. It will allow everyone to relive your wedding day as it actually happened: to see you walk down the aisle, to hear your voices as you exchange vows and rings, to hear and see the toasts, the music, your first dance at the reception.

Whether you opt for all day coverage, or just a little, your videography options today are exciting, elegant and unlimited! And each can be completely tailored to suit your individual needs and requests.

Things to consider when hiring a videographer:

  • What kind of equipment do they have?  Is it broadcast quality, with the ability to capture in true widescreen or High Definition?  Do they use wireless mics to ensure you'll be able to hear your vows?
  • What kind of experience do they have working weddings?  A videographer that has only worked on film/tv production or concerts will not have the same eye and editing sense for a wedding.
  • Do they do this full time or is it just a part time thing for them?  Someone that does this full time is more invested in your day and how your final DVD will look.

Most importantly both of you must feel confident that this videographer will perform professionally and inconspicuously, and deliver a great video.

Best Man Speech

Here are some questions to ask when interviewing videographers:

  • How many cameras/videographers?
  • Are any special effects used?
  • Do you do interviews with family, wedding party, guests?
  • What is the style of the video?
  • Is a deposit required? What about a payment schedule?
  • How many DVD's come with the package? What is the cost for extra DVD's?
  • How is the DVD packaged?
  • How many hours are included?
  • When does coverage start? How much will be captured?
  • How is overtime handled if you do not book an all day coverage?
  • Does the videographer maintain the original videotapes? If so, how long?
  • Does the videographer maintain a master copy?
  • Can changes be made to the video?
  • How far in advance must book your video?
  • What is the cancellation policy?
  • Can you select the background music, and is there a large selection to choose from?
  • Are on-camera lights used?
  • Is the videographer familiar with the site selected?
  • What will the videographer's attire be?

Some facts from recent surveys

  • 98 % of newlyweds recommend brides have their wedding videotaped.
  • Before the wedding, 52 % of brides consider video a "Top 10" service; After the wedding, 75 % of brides consider video a "Top 10" service.
  • 98 % of brides surveyed used the services of a professional photographer.

Those who used both photography and videography agreed that video does a better job of:

  • Capturing the emotions of the day
  • Recording the history of the day
  • Creating a visual memory that future children will enjoy more.

When asked, "If you had a choice between looking at your grandparent's wedding photos or their wedding video, which would you choose?" 61 % of brides said they would rather see the video.

Your wedding video is not "just a video," but a family heirloom that will be cherished for generations to come. If you think about it, a video is not expensive, it's simply priceless!
