Winter Wedding Highlight Film at Church Landing

We don't get many winter weddings, but I love it when we do. Not only does it keep us on our toes creatively, but it's nice to have a change of season to work with for shots. This past Saturday, we were up at Church Landing during Meredith's Great Rotary Fishing Derby. And the best catch of the day, was Karen & Travis!
Karen & Travis are big outdoor people, with a love of fishing (both water and ice), snowmobiling and more so it was very appropriate that they got married not only in the winter, but on the day of the derby. It was questionable to whether or not the derby was going to happen on Meredith Bay with the warm winter we've had. There was dangerous thin ice all over the lake. But we were very luck that we were able to venture out onto the ice for some fun photo and video opportunities!
I absolutely loved all the cool details that Karen & Travis thought of for their wedding day. Karen is a graphic designer, so it all comes naturally to her. The guest book they had was a picture from their engagement session that was turned into a puzzle and they had each guest sign the back of a puzzle piece. How cool is that?!?! There was a rustic birch tree theme throughout from the place card holders, to the candles spread around the venue, and of course their cake. The flowers were awesome shades of purple and pink, which brought a nice pop of color to a cold winter day and they chose to have purple uplighting in the recepiton. I have to say, uplighting is an absolute MUST! It totally changes the feel and look of the venue and adds such a great feel to the shots we take in both photography and video. I highly recommend it!
I hope you enjoy Karen & Travis' highlight film. I sure had a blast working with them and creating this for them. Thank you Karen & Travis for letting me share in your amazing day!
All my best, Jaime
