Like Timberlake says "I've been around and around and run around"

Howdy Everyone,

I hope this blog sees you all well. Let me start off by saying that I'm sorry for such a long delay in between entries. Between business and personal I just had a wee bit on my plate. So where to begin. Let's talk business...you know...I have to say that I have to be one of the luckiest people in the world. We have had some great and brilliant weddings. I have personally shot up at Loon Mountain with one of the nicest couples, Caleb and Jane (www.loonmtn.com)...I have been to Church Landing (www.millsfalls.com), I have been to Boston and everywhere in between. I have enclosed many photos for your enjoyment.

One other reason that I feel so lucky is that in my life I am building a legacy. Without going to deep here, I think most of us would like to leave a lasting impression both as we live and when we're gone. With all the special events that myself and my photographers do its very heartening to know that 150 years down the road someone will be looking at a photo that I took of their relatives...very cool...how many of us get to do something like that...I hope that whatever each of you do in life that you can leave a great impression.

On a personal level this last month has been very interesting. Hunter is getting so big now as he is approaching 3 months...can you believe that 3 months...I just love my little guy...I have so many nicknames for him...the one I call him the most is Poobison J. Bear or Pooby Bear for short. Also on October 10th, I will be moving into a new house and with that new house there will be a new office with French doors nonetheless (fancy, huh?). I also want to thank everyone who has offered support. During the month of August my significant other, Candy, had to go to the hospital and was there for many days. During this time I had to take care of Hunter, Olivia, Troy and Candy's son Indy. All is ok now, but I appreciated everyone's support while I took care of a family and a business. I would like to personally thank my man Kevin for stepping up and editing and posting thousands of pics to help me out. I would like to thank my photographer Kathy for helping out with the editing process. Thank you all!

Also, last but certainly not least. My longtime business partner Jaime had her son Tyler Jayden on September 5th. Jaime, her husband Matt and Cody (dog) are doing very well. We are just pumping out the babies here at NH Images...maybe we should start a daycare division...lol...

All my best to you and yours,
Peter

Finally some pictures :)

Hi Everyone,

I hope this blog sees you well. Busy weekend last weekend as we had weddings in Dracut, MA, Boston, South Shore, MA and NH. Also one item I didn't mention in one my last blogs...I had the honor of shooting Meagan and Brad's wedding a few weeks ago...why this was neat for me was because Meagan's dad is Dave Salvas...Dave was my coach while I was training for my first marathon...you see I did the Maine Marathon back in October of 2006...it was special for me in a couple of ways...first of all I'm originally from Maine and second and he was with me throughout the day as I went on to break the 4 hour mark at 3 hours and 55 mins...to this day its still my best marathon time (sad to say I seem to be getting slower while most get faster).

Today we will be at the Andover Country Club for the 4th time this year alone!...its a great venue with plenty of good backdrops...since I have been telling you that I would be posting pics, I thought I would take this opportunity and just show a bunch of recent images...let me know what you think.

Comment for your wedding: Don't worry about the weather...last Friday we had massive thunderstorms rolling in...but you know what...they made for a great backdrop as we were taking pics...yes it did rain, but you can take advantage of a dramatic sky above.

Enjoy,

All my best to everyone, Peter

Thoughts moving forward

Hi Everyone,
I hope this blog sees you all well. Wow isn’t the summer just flying by? On a personal level yester Hunter turned 1 month old…can you believe that? If time flies by this quickly then he will be ready for college by the end of the year…or so it feels like. With a crowded house now, I am looking at purchasing a bigger house and one that will include an even nicer office for you my couples to visit us.
One subject that was brought to my attention by Kevin was the subject of what not to do during a wedding. I thought this was an interesting subject to think about as many times you are told what to do, what to plan for your wedding day…but what about things not to do as it relates to pictures?

One quick tip:

As it relates to photography and video
~ not a great idea to dance the whole night with a beer bottle in your hand…you will look back on your images and see that you and bud light were quite a dance team…instead of dancing with the stars it will be dancing with the suds…lol

This weekend will see plenty of action in and around the Boston area. More pics to come next week!

Have a great weekend!

Peter

What can a wedding day teach us?

Hello Everyone,

I hope this blog sees you well. Last weekend was another interesting and brilliant weekend…yes I know I sound like a broken record when I say that…but I am sincere when I mention this…Last Friday, I personally shot a wedding at York Beach (www.unionbluff.com)…what was very interesting about this was the fact Kara and Tom (the bride and groom) were very much in the public eye for most of the day…mixing regular folk with bridal folk makes for an interesting mix…also I really have to applaud the both of them for their willingness to get wet and wild as the shots on the beach unfolded.

Saturday is a lesson in life…how do you deal with adversity when its your big day. My bride Tiffany was getting ready at the Holiday Inn in Salem when the fire alarm went off as she was still getting ready…then when we made it to the Castleton in Windham, NH (http://www.castletonbcc.com/) the JP showed up over an hour late because he had it in his calendar wrong (which I find unacceptable because he was at the rehearsal 2 DAYS before the event)…so Tiffany and Jim had 2 choices…they could have either stressed out over everything that was happening and ask the question of “why”…or they could have…and actually they did…roll with the punches go with the flow…make the best out of a difficult situation in which they would have fun and still enjoy their day…

So how did they handle it…when the fire alarm went off I got a pic of Tiffany next to the fire engine posing beside it…a great way to get a memory of something that happened…so what happened when the JP didn’t show and the ceremony was supposed to start at 7pm and on top of that we were running out of light to do pictures…I huddled together with each of them separately and decided to do a 180…we decided to do the formal pics before the ceremony so that we could at least get the outdoor pics…I staged an event in which they could see each other for the first time so that it would still be special…then we were off to the races…and the great part was that after the ceremony was eventually over they could enjoy as much of the cocktail hour as they wanted to…we all had a great time and everything went off without a hitch…
So what can a wedding day teach us…it can teach us that life isn’t always perfect and sometimes go with the flow can be go with the good times ahead.

I would also like to thank Kevin, Hallie and Dan for doing a great job in photographing/shooting video for us in Boston and in Lincoln, NH @ the Indian Head Resort (http://www.indianheadresort.com/). So whats up this weekend?...1 wedding Friday and 3 on Saturday...more to come next week :)

All my best to you,
Peter

Lets get it started

Hi Everyone,

I hope this blog sees you well. On our end all is about to get busy…between now and labor day we have over 20 weddings scheduled to be completed!...so many happy brides so little time! Last weekend I had off so that I could take care of everyone in the household after Hunter was born. He is such a cutie and is a hungry bear to say the least…

This weekend we have 4 weddings going on. Today I will be shooting up at York Beach in York Maine. Saturday I will be at the Castleton in Windham NH. Hallie will be down in Boston shooting for me and Kevin will be up at the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH. ..3 weddings, 3 states.

Questions and Answers:

Every week I meet with dozens of brides to be and it never seems to amaze me all of the questions that get thrown my way. We have been in business for over 10 years and I have been asked about DJ’s, bands, flowers, JP’s even wedding rings and invitations…so I thought I would take a moment and suggest to you some of the better vendors that I have personally run into over the recent period…keep a couple things in mind…there are many great vendors out there so this is not an exclusive list…and I’m not being bribed by anyone…

DJ’s – Atlantic Sound out of Manchester, NH http://www.atlanticsoundnh.com/ There is mounds of sound out of Haverhill, MA and AT Soundforce out of Rhode Island. All are very personable and do a great job playing what couples are looking to hear.

Flowers – Tsubaki Flowers out of Hudson, NH. I have personally purchased from them many times and they do a great job. http://www.tsubakiflowers.com/

Invitations – Celeste Simpson is a master creator of some incredible invitations. I met Celeste last year at a bridal show and she create some incredible works of art….check her out at http://www.impressmedesigns.com/

JP’s – I will work on this one as I cannot for the life of me remember the names…I will report back.

Wedding bands – check out Burque Jewelers in Nashua. Ken does a great job taking care of couples and has a great selection. http://www.burques.com/

Well that is all for now…I will mention other vendors as time permits in the future…feel free to ping me if you have any questions or would like some advice....lastly here is one of the cutest pics that I took at the last wedding reception that I was at...enjoy!

All my best,

Peter

Gratitude to all

Hi everyone,

I hope this blog sees you well. I know that it has been a bit since I have written, but I believe I have a legit excuse…lol…Hunter is starting to settle in a bit on the eating and sleeping end of things and I am happy about that. I have hired one of my brides , who happens to be an excellent nanny…she is going to keep an eye on Hunter tonight so that Candy and I can actually get some sleep…I cannot wait for this…it will be better than free chocolate when you need it most ;)

First of all I would like to personally thank each and everyone one of you who reached out to us regarding Hunter…He is so incredibly cute. So what have we been up to…well since I have last written we completed another 2 weddings…and have booked 5 more…On July 5th we did a wedding up in Center Ossipee, NH…on the lake, in a backyard…its not very often that you run into someone who has a beach for a back yard. We also shot a welcome home reception at the Atkinson Country Club in Atkinson, NH…Cristy and Paul had their wedding in Bermuda and celebrated after the fact with their friends…it was very emotional on both weddings…

So what is up next…believe it or not, we do not have any weddings for this weekend coming up…I knew the baby was coming and thought this weekend would be a good time to chill…
Enjoy the pics and now that I am back on track (a bit) the blog will be rolling on…

All my best,
Peter
