So you are ready to pop the big question to the love of your life. Congrats to you on wanting to make this important step in both of your lives. So the question becomes how and where do you do it? The page is here to provide some initial suggestions and thoughts on the topic.

How and where to Propose:

One of the first things that you need to decide on is how you want to propose. This falls under two categories:

· public or
· private

What I mean by public is going out to a restaurant, at a sporting event or anything along those lines. Private means that you are going to do it in an area meant just for the two of you. Some suggestions in this area can be a place that you first kissed or first met. It can be a public place, but in a private setting such as an intimate restaurant or carriage ride…or It can be a hiking trail or simply the home that you live in now…the most important suggestion that I can offer to make the moment memorable and meaningful.

Now that you have decided on where and how you want to propose the next step is to decide when. There are obvious examples such as special dates (anniversary), or special events. However if you want to surprise you mate, you may want to think outside the box a bit. One strategy you may want to consider is a misdirection. What this means that you are telling your mate one thing and doing another. An example can be that you want to your mate out to a great dinner, but what you mate may not know is that you are going to rendez vous to where you first met and pop the question.

Another strategy is the direct route. This is simple and straight forward…however you can still make it special. If you are planning to ask your mate at a restaurant why not set up with an incredible bottle of wine, have flowers delivered right to your table or other things that your mate may enjoy.
